HC Monday Musings...

A few more musings and random thoughts on a Monday morning. Not as complete as this blog,(shameless plug!) link , but I am finishing my third cup of coffee!

.....A LONG Friday and Saturday of Tennis in the IIAC Women's Individuals. Capped off by a Coaches Meeting Friday night. Plus, it was cold for the first time this Fall. The Friday night shower invoked the entire contents of my hot water heater in a futile attempt at thawing! Brad, being a hard-headed Texan, wore shorts. Not sure he has long pants?

.....Good play all around for the Women's Team. Kudos to Tai, Michelle and Hoff on their victories. Play beyond the finals showed a lot of promise as Tam and Shade were dubs gurus, Jordan keeps getting better and better in singles and doubles, Laura was "Laura" for the first time this Fall, Diannah was a net ninja in doubles; she skipped the "drift" and "pinch" and went right past the "poach" to the "kill! And Amy! Amy was a Communications Specialist during all of her doubles play! (and she played great doubles too!)

......Now that I look back on the scores, our Doubles was very good. 3 pairs in the A semis, and our #2 and #3 pairs earned their way there with upset wins! B doubles had one in the Quarters, and the Runner-up. I am pleased!

.....Didn't Coach Kris post something about "Pare Down'? Fall cleaning commenced at my house yesterday(still running on adrenaline from season). Over the past five years I have changed waist sizes many times( in a downward direction, and of course accumulated a complete wardrobe in each size) Despite not remembering to take a picture, take my word for it: over three feet of pants, shorts and shirts stacked neatly. Took four trips to get to the car for delivery to Goodwill! That was just one room. Office and Kitchen to follow!

.....I need to mention that all BLUE shirts did not make the cut to stay in the closet. Those close to the Program will know the reason why.

.....Big Recruiting month ahead for the Coaching Staff. Looking for qualified candidates to replace our irreplaceable Seniors.

.....Cincinnati Reds still alive in post-season play(Braves and Rangers fell) Currently up 2-0 on the Giants and returning to GABP in Cincinnati for a Tuesday game. Hoping for a Nationals vs Reds series next.

.....Up next? Looking forward to spending time working out this month: walks with the Dogs in the beautiful Iowa Fall, hopefully a bit more cycling, and maybe one more crack at clay court tennis! Lot of traveling to State Tennis Tourneys too!
