Coach and I started the day in the breakfast area working. Players meandered in throughout. Will admit that Embassy Suites breakfast is something I look forward to every year.......quite extensive in terms of selection, chef cooking to order, etc. For me, corned beef hash and Coke.....time and a place for everything!
Morning practice was rescheduled for 1 PM (due to cold weather). Got a couple hours in at San Lando again. Exposed the first year women to the infamous obstacle course from last year.
Following practice, took the women to the Pepperidge Farm Thrift Store. An annual tradition! Got 4 loaves of bread (good bread!) for myself; 6 bags of Goldfish, boxes of Chocolate Goldfish, 50 snack size bags of Goldfish and Goldfish shaped shaped bread for Emmie. Bill was a whopping $16.
As for dinner....RESERVATION FOR 59 PLEASE!
Players, parents, siblings, coaches, etc. Each of the 26 players stood up to introduce themselves, and family/friends there to support. MJ, Geoffrey and Jeff stole the show. Geoffrey claimed that his own parents (from France) could not be there, but despite, he was there with his "family".....typical Frenchman to speak eloquently, and impress the ladies. Was grateful to have had my own parents (and Aunt/Uncle) in attendance also! They have been traveling / visiting friends in Alabama and Florida for over a week now; head back to IA today and will have MORE Kohawk Tennis parents waiting to board their plane for the return trip to FL.....IF the 10-12 inches of predicted snow holds off.
