3/19 Preview-Augustana College

This coming Saturday the fast-rising Tennis Teams from nearby Augustana College will invade the Clark Racquet Center for an unique double dual with both the Men's & Women's Teams participating.

Augustana Men

Currently sitting at 13-3, ranked 66th in the country, Augie is led by senior Kyle Doyle and juniors Nik Lehnhart and Adam Desimone. Add to this a very talented and highly rated class of first-year players and the Vikings will pose a considerable challenge to the Kohawks. Coe is 13-1 on the year and ranked #48 in the country.

Augustana Women

The Ladies of Augustana stand at 11-6 on the year and finished their Fall campaign with a 2nd place CCIW Conference finish, the highest finish for the Vikings in years, falling only to nationally ranked Wheaton College. Both of the top two players, Shannen McNamara and Kim Sawyer, are first year players who have been putting up phenomenal results thus far and should test the Kohawks. Coe sports an 11-6 record also, with recent close losses to Nationally ranked Wheaton, TCNJ, and Rochester. Coe is ranked 47th in the country.

The Men's match is scheduled at 10am. The Women at 2pm. Both matches could be held on the outdoor courts, but that final decision will be made Saturday morning. ITA regulations specify that the mid-match temperature must exceed 50 degrees, while the sustained wind speed be 20mph or less. Regardless, the nets are up and Coe will be ready to go, inside or outside!
