Kohawks Sweep A Flight Honors at IIACs
The Kohawks dominated at the IIAC A Flight Individual tourney in Pella, Iowa, despite 2014 being one of the most balanced and competitive league races in many a year. First-year Haley Resnick, seeded 2nd, revenged her only IIAC loss with a 12-10 Match Tiebreaker final round win, saving five match points en route. Teammates Amy Sebastian and Jordan Ferree rounded out the top four singles players.
In doubles play Jordan Ferree teamed with Laura Birky to edge teammates Sarah Lasecki and Haley Resnick in the all-Kohawk final 8-5. The top Kohawk pairs advanced by beating the #1 teams from Central College and Wartburg College.
The Kohawks return to dual match play on February 28th in the friendly confines of the Clark Racquet Center where they will host Kalamazoo College, a top 10 Central Region squad coached by Coe alum Mark Murphy(98)
