What I Learned Yesterday...

As one would hope, I learned a few things about the 2011 edition of the Kohawk Men's Tennis Team after yesterday's Opening Day. Here are a few random observations.....

a) everyone is nervous on Opening Day...even seniors with over 300 collegiate matches between them.
b) Coe has a lot of players with significant upside in singles. The daily competition in practice carried over into Saturday play where we looked good for the first time out.
c) doubles is not there yet, but showed signs of having the potential of being at least solid, if not above average.
d) fitness was good, seemingly on its way to being a big positive
e) emotional control and balance was, for a change, largely a positive. if that continues to maintain and even improve......it could turn out to be the single most important gain of the day!

and finally,

the Kohawk Women's Tennis Team is awesome! The Ladies spent virtually as much time in the Center yesterday(without playing) as did the Men. They successfully ran Kid's Day(which was very cute!) and teamed up to paint Room #205 such that the finished product(excepting some brilliant artwork that we await from Nat) can only be described as bold!

I am looking forward to next week's challenge presented to us by UW-LaCrosse and Cornell!
