ITA Scholar Athlete Awards

Coe placed five women's tennis players on the ITA Scholar Athlete Team.
SKILLMAN, N.J. - Five Coe College men's tennis players were honored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) for their athletic and academic performances.
Juniors Mark Kroll (Castle Rock, Colo./Castle View) and Zack Decker (Wyoming, Minn./Forest Lake) earned the honor for the third-straight year. Sophomores Alex Bernt (Cedar Falls, Iowa/Columbus) and Chad Moklestad (Boone, Iowa/Boone), along with freshman Brady Anderson (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Linn-Mar), earned the award for the first time.
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letterwinner, 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and 3.) have been enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters (including freshman through senior year).
Coe was one of four Iowa Conference schools to have a selection, while Coe and Central were the only two with more than four selections. It is the fifth-straight year Coe has had a selection, while it is the third-straight year that at least four Kohawks have been honored.
The Kohawks went 21-7 overall last year, while winning their fourth-straight Iowa Conference Championship and advancing to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Coe returns all but one player to this year's lineup.
