NCAA Preview

The NCAA has spoken! Both Teams will be playing in the City of St. Louis, Missouri in the Regional hosted by Washington University. The Coe squads, Men & Women, are seeded 4th in the six team events. 

The Women will have a re-match from April 18th with Grinnell College. Coe came out ahead in that encounter by the slimmest of margins, 5-4. I would expect this match will be more of the same with close matches at all nine flights. Should the Kohawks triumph, they would feed into top seeded, and #9 nationally, Washington University.

The Men will also have a re-match of sorts. In 2013 Coe played Earlham College in the NCAA tournament, escaping with a 5-3 win. Earlham returns virtually their entire roster and easily captured the Heartland Conference. I expect doubles to be the key in this dual. Whichever school has a 2-1 advantage will be favored to go on to victory. The Winner advances to a Saturday date with top seeded and #2 nationally ranked Bears from Washington University.
