Starting on Monday, March 7th the Coe College Women's Tennis Team will be playing five matches in four days, a fantastic opportunity to grow as competitors, and develop teamwork in doubles. A quick synopsis of the five upcoming opponents.
TCNJ
The College of New Jersey(Ewing, NJ, 5 miles from Trenton, NJ) will be making its Spring debut on their Florida Trip. The Lions stand at 5-0 and are ranked #17 in the country. Their #1 player, Karissa Bendijo won their ITA Regional this past Fall, and then finished 4th at the Fall Nationals in Mobile, Alabama. The Lions defeated Coe 8-1 in 2010.
Meredith
The Avenging Angels stand at 0-2 on the young 2011 season having opened the year with two Division I opponents. They begin the D3 portion of their schedule this Thursday and the March 8th meeting between the two schools will be the first ever. Meredith as a Women's college located in Raleigh, NC.
Rochester
Rochester(Rochester, NY) stands at 5-0 on the season, with a win over D1 Colgate as their most recent competition. The YellowJackets are ranked #20 in the National D3 rankings and are led by two outstanding players, Lia Weiner & Frances Tseng, ranked 11th & 15th in the challenging Northeast Region. Rochester competes in the University Athletic Association, the country's toughest conference from top to bottom.
Misericordia
The Misericordia Cougars are from Dallas, PA(10 miles from Wilkes-Barre, PA), and currently stand at 4-2. They are members of the Freedom Conference. This will be the 1st meeting between the two schools.
Drew
Drew University is located in Madison, NJ(25 miles from NYC), and the Rangers compete in the Landmark Conference. Drew is a Liberal Arts College of 1700. Drew is the defending Landmark Champion and participated in the NCAA tournament in 2010.
