SKILLMAN, N.J. - The Coe College women's tennis team is ranked in the first ITA Central Region Women's Tennis poll of the year. Coe's Haley Resnick (Bettendorf, Iowa/Assumption) is also listed in the singles rankings.
Having already faced two members of the ITA Central Region Poll, the Kohawks are ranked 13th in the first poll of the year. Coe owns a 6-3 win over 20th-ranked Luther, while sixth-ranked Wisconsin-Whitewater beat Coe 9-0. The Kohawks will also face seventh-ranked Hope, ninth-ranked Kalamazoo, 15th-ranked Augustana and 20th-ranked Lake Forest this spring.
In the singles poll, Resnick is ranked 22nd after her Iowa Conference MVP campaign this fall. Resnick finished the fall portion of the schedule 12-3 in singles and 10-3 in doubles with Laura Birky (Cedar Rapids, Iowa/Xavier). Resnick won nine of her last 10 matches, including the last five.
The Kohawks (7-1) return to action on Feb. 20, as they travel to NCAA Division I Creighton. The match is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. in Omaha, Neb.
